Still Life.   Andrew Pearson. September 2010

I believe, that a Still Life is born, like everything else, out of chaos.

A Still Life is a focal point. A respite.

Transient stillness captured for however long the canvas and the paint last.

The chaos that surrounds, is suggested in many.

A certain animated quality possessed by some. The suggestion of fragility and decay, of energy, vibrancy.

Objects suspended on or near the cusp separating creation and destruction.

A Still Life is a curious thing. It both defies, and affirms a sense of 'being'.

A Still Life is strange, and often asks more questions than it answers.
